Join Athina in this one day intensive workshop exploring physicality through creative choreographic tasks and improvised themes.

The workshop focuses on the importance  of  ‘gesture’ as the initial meaningful body expression preceding  movement composition. It explores different  ways of approaching and looking at the creation of  gestural motifs  and poses questions regarding our intention as makers and our perception of meaning in performance.

During the day you will work on different  ways of instilling choreographic intention in the minutiae of  simple movement gestures as well as exploring how this effects larger  compositional  structures. Thus, developing a Tool Box for artists to enhance  their creative and technical practice as performers and makers.

A rigorous physical  approach will require  participants to be physically active, take risks, be open to  experimentation and work  collaboratively with peers.
