  • Biography: Jessica Lerner

    • INTRODUCTION

    For one week only resident artist Jessica Lerner will create an installation in our studio theatre bringing together textiles and everyday objects to create an environment for the exploration of creative movement and dance and to enjoy.

    Round shapes, vivid colour and textures will transform an assortment of objects from the conventions of domesticity to the fantastical and theatrical – all housed in a soft atmosphere created through the hanging and draping of natural materials and textiles.

    During the residency Jessica will work with artist/performer Felicity Croydon and artist/facilitator Eeva-Maria Mutka. Wool for the environment have been prepared by textile artist Paula Madden.

    BIOGRAPHY: JESSICA LERNER

    Jessica Lerner has a BA in fine Art from Goldsmiths College, studied dance at the Centre of New dance development in Arnhem, Netherlands. Her work crosses the disciplines of dance and visual performance art. Originally from London she now lives in South Wales. She has made solo and collaborative work for 15 years and choreographs dance with objects. She has made performances for Union Chapel Studio Theatre, Chisenhale Dance Space and Dilston Grove Gallery in London as well as performing in Nuremberg, Fürth, Lisbon and Copenhagen.
