Dear All,

Here is a quick reminder of the classes and education projects that we have coming up in Autumn 2009. They are listed as follows:

1) Children's Classes
2) Adult Classes
3) Moving Words - movement project for women with English as a second language
4) Age Gap - For gay men aged 16-116!

1) Children's Classes

Tuesday classes 15 Sept – 8th Dec 09 (no class on the 27th Oct 09)
Saturday classes 19th Sept – 12th Dec 09 (no class on the 31st Oct 09)

Cost:
Creative Dance £36/24 per term, Saturday Youth Dance Group £5 p/t
Taster sessions – Creative dance £3.50 / Free tasters Saturday Youth Group!                                 

Creative Dance Class for 2 – 8 years
2 – 3 yrs   Sat 9.40am   – 10.10am (and parents/carers)
2 – 3 yrs   Sat 10.20am – 10.50am (and parents/carers)
2 – 3 yrs   Tues 4.00pm – 4.30pm  (and parents/carers)
3 – 4 yrs   Sat 11.00am – 11.30am
4 – 6 yrs   Tues 4.30pm – 5.10pm

2) Adult Classes

Pilates – Beginners and Intermediate
Mondays and Thursday 7:30pm from 7th September
£10 to drop in or £42 for six weeks.

Ballet for Adults - Beginners and Intermediate
Monday (begins: 12th October) 5.30 – 7.00pm
Since graduating from Rambert School in 1999, Allan Mortensen has worked as a contemporary dancer in Denmark working with both Danish and international choreographers including former Royal Danish Ballet Principal Eske Holm and Craig Revel Horwood. Allen is introducing an Adult Ballet Class to Chisenhale in the autumn term. £6 per class.

Wednesdays 7:30-9pm. Starting 16th of September. £5 per class
Chisenhale Dance Space has teamed up with Vocab Dance to deliver challenging, intense, dynamic, fun and fast paced classes in African Contemporary Dance on a Wednesday evening. Learn VOCAB DANCE's movement vocabulary; an eclectic and exhilarating style that blends contemporary dance techniques Afro-Jazz dance and physical expression.

3) Moving Words  - For women with English as a second language


Moving Words is our Free 10 week Movement & Language course for women with English as their second language. This course supports ESOL learners as well as people just keen to improve their conversational skills.

Etta Ermini and Soo Wright will deliver this exciting and accessible project at Chisenhale Dance Space

Dates: Mondays 28th September - 7th of December 2009 (no class on 26th October - half term)
Time: 11am-1.00pm

4) Age Gap - For gay men aged 16-116 !

Age Gap is an exciting opportunity to create a dance piece with Canadian choreographer Joseph Mercier and perform it at The Homelands Dance Festival 2009.
 
The project is for any and all gay men regardless of previous experience or abilities: maybe you’ve just come out to your parents, or maybe you remember when homosexuality was illegal; maybe you’re doing your A-levels, or maybe you’ve just retired; maybe your favourite will always be Sinatra, or maybe Lady Gaga is more your thing!  Wherever you’re at, Age Gap hopes to celebrate all the different stages of gay life and get men of all ages talking and moving together.  
 
There is no cost to participate in the project, but you must live or work in the Borough of Tower Hamlets.  
 
Age Gap will meet at Chisenhale Dance Space on the following dates:
Meet & Greet: 22/9/09 6:30pm
Workshops: 29/9/09 – 02/11/09
Performance: 8/11/09
*you must be available for all of the above dates
