OPEN STUDIO RESIDENCIES 2017

OPEN STUDIO RESIDENCIES

Chisenhale Dance Space (CDS) understands that a major priority for performing artists is time and space to undertake their practice.

Open Studio Residences are offered to enable artists who find themselves needing something to push their practice further. Artists who feel that they are unsure where to go next, have old work that may need to be re-developed before finding new partners, or who don’t know what to make are encouraged to apply.

There are no outcomes required for Open Studio Residencies.

The only requirement is that artists open their studios each week (once to invited guests and once to the general public) to showcase their practice in ways that are most meaningful to the process. Producer support is offered prior, during and after the residency to develop projects at CDS and beyond.

Two week residencies occur in August, September and October 2017. Artists are invited back to curate performance events in November 2017 and February 2018.

Applications are open until 23 June 2017, 5pm.

Residency applications are only open to our Artist Members for this round.

As such, Artist Members must be the lead applicant in group research/exploration.

If you are interested in applying to be an Artist Member please visit this page for information.
