About Kate Hilder
Kate Hilder (www.katehilder.com) teaches and performs movement-based theatre improvisation. Her work integrates physical, vocal and emotional expression and is mainly influenced by her training in Action Theater™ which she studied extensively with Ruth Zaporah, the pioneer of this form. Her teaching is also informed by working with Andrew Morrish, Roy Hart Theatre voice teachers and her practice of Vipassana meditation. She is currently in her fourth and final year of the Feldenkrais teacher training programme.
Kate teaches improvisation classes nationwide including weekly classes in London and Brighton. She is known for her gentle and supportive approach and her ability to create a non-judgmental environment where students feel safe to explore and express themselves freely. She also teaches Feldenkrais classes in Brighton. She is a founder member of the Stranger than Fiction Collective, who curate monthly improvised performance events at Siobhan Davies Studios. She performs with members of this Collective as well as solo and with EAT, a European Action Theater performance ensemble.
