We are seeking dynamic, inspired and resourceful individuals to play key roles as the organisation embarks in a transition period.
After 3.5 years as Director, Daniel Pitt will be leaving us in mid-June to take up a new role. The last few years has been marked by increased turnover and payments to artists, increased engagement in the local Bow community, new artist-led projects including Encounter Bow, the beginnings of the PhD on our archives and valuable new partnerships.
For CDS’ survival through the pandemic year, we are hugely thankful for life-saving investment from diverse local, national, regional funding bodies, trusts and individuals, which we believe signifies the value of CDS’ survival to our local and artistic communities, and as a part of London’s arts infrastructure.
In the wider context of organisational review post-pandemic, our history as an artist-led organisation, and the vital need to embed anti-racist principles and practices in everything that we do, we are keen to explore alternative models of leadership for the future of the organisation.
To enable this, CDS is now entering a 6-month interim period to enable review and consultation required for flexibility of change going forward.
CDS is now recruiting two fixed-term roles:
- Interim Chief Executive (part time: 3 days/ week) – deadline: 20th May
- Operations Coordinator (part time: 3 days/ week) – deadline: 17th May
Both roles will play a key part in enabling CDS through this unique opportunity for self-reflection and transformation, making way for innovative practices that answer the needs of the dance sector, and artist and local communities today.
We encourage applications from those who are under-represented in our organisation and marginalised in our sector, especially those from the global majority, including those of African diaspora heritage, South Asian, East Asian and South-East Asian heritage, mixed heritage, and those who have faced other socio-economic barriers, those who identify as LGBTQ+, and disabled people.
