Chisenhale Dance Space announces a new programme of Saturday morning dance and creative movement classes for ages 2-12.
Booking is now open for Autumn Term 2018.
Nurturing creativity through movement has been a key aspect of our mission since its founding. Our Saturday morning Children’s Creative Movement & Dance classes offer a dynamic series of classes for children in local boroughs. We’re delighted to launch our biggest ever dance and creative movement programme for children this Autumn and we’re looking forward to welcoming new students to the Chisenhale Dance Space family.
Led by CDS Artist members Robyn Holder and Ingvild Marstein Olsen, the programme nurtures the creative futures of nearly 200 children each term. The classes start at age 2 and run on a progressive programme up to the age of 12, building skills and knowledge in movement, rhythm and choreography. We always end the year with a performance which lets family and friends see what the children have created.
We’ve been listening to your feedback and expanded our offering for Leaps & Strides, and added two new dance classes: Contemporary and Street Dance for ages 8-12. Leaps & Strides will now cover ages 3-5 and is offered twice at 10:15 (Leaps & Strides A) and 11:30 (Leaps & Strides B) to accommodate more children in the class. The age group for Dash will also be slightly younger, for 6-7 years old starting this year. See the full schedule below, and follow the links for more information on each class.
We’re offering longer terms this year for a total of 12 weeks per term. At the same time we’ve made a small £1 increase in the cost per class, for a full-term cost of £72 for Mini Movers and Leaps & Strides, and £78 for Dash, or £36 and £39 for the half-term respectively. The price for drop-in/taster classes has been held at £8 without increase.
These price changes reflect the rising costs of running our studios and will further support the sustainability of our work as a home for experimentation in dance & performance in East London.
Try out any class on your first visit without booking the full term! See details on each class page.
