Skinner // Sound offers an immersive introduction to Skinner Releasing Technique (SRT), a movement practice rooted in poetic imagery, music and guided touch. Led by Franzi, this series explores classes 1 to 4 of the SRT pedagogy, and welcomes participants of all backgrounds (no prior experience of Skinner Releasing Technique required).
SRT is a pioneering somatic approach that fosters expressive, spontaneous movement. As tension releases, dancers access deeper freedom, power, and articulation. This Lab gently expands into voice and sound practices, culminating in a moving and sounding score developed from SRT principles. Each session also includes space for drawing and writing to support individual reflection.
Whether you’re a dancer, artist, mover or curious creative, Skinner // Sound invites you into a playful space of imagination, exploration, and release.
Franziska Böhm is an independent artist based in London, working across music, dance and academia. Drawn to collaboration, she explores what emerges if we soften into relations: with Hannah Archambault she explores movement-based electronic and a cappella composition; she co-directs Palpable with Sofia Pomeroy; co-founded Sounding Sensations Praxis with Serena Ruth. Recently she has been teaching SRT at Chisenhale Dance Space, Wednesday Moving, Trinity Laban and Rambert. She has a cat called RatBetty and works in a Spanish deli pairing wine and meat.
