This class will take you through the basics of contemporary dance, encouraging students to find freedom and pleasure in movement. Drawing from Release techniques, David Zambrano’s Flying Low, and Contact Improvisation, we will progressively build up the pace and energy. Students will work on strengthening and softening the body, while developing awareness and endurance. This class will focus on the dancer’s relationship with breath, music, and space as we build towards a sharing at the end of term. This class is suitable for beginners and intermediate dancers wishing to get back to the basics.
*This class will now be held for 12 weeks starting in the Spring Term, and can be booked as a drop-in class as well as a course.
