This 10 week improvisation course will create a welcoming environment to explore the theme ‘sound & music’. We will discover how different approaches to working with sound can change the way we move, responding to movement tasks informed by somatic enquiry and Ingvild’s creative collaborations with musician Ben Corrigan. We will listen both inwardly to the rhythms of the body (breath, pulse) and outwardly (sounds in space, voice, music). We will practice music and movement scores together to develop simple ways to connect with others and our own choices when dancing. This class will offer the possibility for play, conversation and sharing.

These classes are aimed at movers or performers with some experience, but not necessarily in improvisation. Each term is led by a different teacher with a specific theme and focus. Expand your palette of expression and encounter your imagination afresh!
