COVID-19 update: National Lockdown restrictions
Following the government’s announcement of a national lockdown as of Monday 4th January 2021, it is with a heavy heart that we have made the decision to remain closed until at least Monday 22nd February 2021, with the situation reviewed in February.
This is in response to the latest COVID-19 lockdown restrictions in order to protect the most vulnerable in our community and taking into account the viability for us to operate without further financial impact during this difficult period.
At Chisenhale Dance Space, it is paramount that we ensure the health and safety of our staff, Members, hirers and visitors. All members of staff will work from home during lockdown periods. We understand that this is a difficult time for arts workers, particularly freelancers and those without access to space to work. Whilst we are disappointed that our studios will be closed over the coming weeks and that our sector’s recovery will be further delayed, it is vital to protect the most vulnerable in society for us all to stay home where possible and to take care if you need to work.
We will be in contact with all hirers who have any outstanding bookings to offer alternative dates after Monday 22nd February 2021. Our COVID-adapted children’s classes programme, enabled thanks to funding from Action for Bow, will move online for this period.
Professional rehearsal and training is legal to continue under the current restrictions. We encourage expressions of interest for future space bookings, taking place after Monday 22nd February 2021 via email on email@example.com. If you’re planning a project, pencilling dates is a great way to support us during this time
Further updates will be posted on our website, Twitter, Facebook and Instagram channels.
Thank you for your continuous support and understanding on this matter and we look forward to welcoming you back to the studios as soon as possible.
All our best wishes,
The CDS Team
