Focus on: CDS history

This month’s posters, highlighting the work that Chisenhale Dance Space does with artists and the local community, are focussing on our early days. Chisenhale Dance Space grew out of the X6 collective and for over 30 years has been a home for experimentation in dance and performance in the heart of East London. You can read more about our history here.

The images include X6;the old street level door; the floor being laid in the main studio; and a performance by Rosemary Lee (who is now one of our board members).

In 2015 the income we earn from space hire is paying for our building costs and staff to manage it, which means that all voluntary donations go towards artistic activity, supporting artists and the local community. You can make a one-off or regular donation on our website.
