Technique Exchange – Call for teachers
Technique Exchange began at Chisenhale Dance Space in 2014. It is an attempt to open up the standard structures of a professional dance class:
To share and participate in the practice of our peers.
To create an accessible space for professional movers of any level.
To question what technique is.
This September Technique Exchange will be returning, supported by a grant from Arts Council England to CDS.
The format is simple, open, friendly. Sessions will take place on Wednesday mornings, from 10.30 to 12pm. Each artist will lead a block of three classes.
Dates:
6, 13, 20 September
4,11,18 October
1,8, 15 November
A travel stipend is available. Teachers will be paid from class takings on an agreed upon split. Mentoring can be provided if you have ideas but little teaching experience.
Would you be interested in leading classes?
What is making you move right now?
What is important in your dance practice?
How would you share that?
What would you like to try with others?
