A creative space for people living with chronic health issues or fatigue, exploring the idea of dance as medicine. You might be an artist wanting to explore your health issues or someone who can benefit from looking at your body stories from a more creative perspective.

Through movement, breath, partner-work, guided imagery, writing and drawing we will discover a poetic language of metaphor that is unique and personal to you and includes your whole self. When made visible these body stories can offer us a deeper sense of connection and meaning in coping with chronic conditions. Sessions aim to awaken the imagination, find more ease in the body and stimulate your creativity.

Each session will include solo and partner work, gentle explorations in movement and time to share experiences.

About the Facilitator:

Natasha Swingler believes the body knows things worth knowing. She makes performance, dance, video and installations connected to the replay of memory through the body, the unspoken and taboo, identity, trauma and liminal experiences seen through the lens of poetry, metaphor, sensation and image. She is an artist member of Chisenhale Dance Space.
