As a tribute to love and an antidote to despair, anthologyofamess curates a night of music and dance.
A performance evening imagining new futures rooted in listening and attending to the present. They will present an existent piece and a new work-in-progress – ƎɅOLVE and General Waste – and will invite musician and DJ Astro Jose to share some songs from their first and upcoming album.
In General Waste, anthologyofamess find themselves gathering and laying down their fears about and wishes for a manifestly uncertain future at a time of global crises, proposing love and poetry as antidote. For this night, they invite musician and DJ Astro Jose. He will be sharing a combination of his own work as well as music composed in collaboration with Michael Willoughby as part of their band Extra! Extra!; a set of songs talking about dreams, love and rabbit holes. To complete the evening anthologyofamess is also re-staging their previous work ƎɅOLVE; a piece that traces back their interest with love but shaded from a different light – a relentless need to never ever stop.

Future Fridays is our regular programme supporting new work led by Chisenhale Dance Members. Join us for a first look at seven projects which shun conventions and face the future of performance head-on.
Chisenhale Dance Space is on the second floor, accessed by a staircase only, and therefore, regrettably, is not wheelchair accessible. For more information, please click here. If you would like to talk to one of our team about your access needs, please email email@example.com
ABOUT THE ARTISTS
Anthologyofamess is the home for performance activities and events in various and fluid forms brought to you by Mariana Camiloti, Antonio de la Fe, Petra Söör, Manou Koreman and Robert Vesty. Anthologyofamess is a project that could be seen both as a framework and as a looking glass zooming in on experience, transformation, patterns, performance-making and the present. An anthology, a collection of events that are continuous evolving with the word mess referring to the non-tamable nature of dance and performance.
Astro Jose is a Venezuelan musician and DJ. Now based in London, Astro Jose worked with English musician and writer Michael Willoughby to compose and write songs under a project named Extra!Extra! These songs have both a classical and contemporary music background while combining different genres of electronic music and whimsical, abstract and emotionally charged lyrics.
