Observation Room Strike
Future Fridays at Chisenhale Dance Space

A unique performance experience dissolving the borders between movement and stillness, between art and life.
In this 1hr 15min work you are invited to enter the space where the performers are laying down, to observe and/or participate in the action of stillness for as long as you are comfortable. What happens in a moment of stillness? What moves you when you don’t move at all?
The performative project ‘Observation Room’ compiles an inventory of what lies hidden and out of view within the borders of the self and one’s everyday environment. This performance asks us all to look closer at that which might otherwise remain unnoticed. Throughout the evening you can shift between different ways of relating with others – looking, interacting, and discussing.
You can come and go as you please, but we’d encourage you to stay with us until the end and to share some reflections.
Future Fridays is our regular programme championing new work led by Chisenhale Dance Members. Join us for a first look at seven projects which shun conventions and face the future of performance head-on.
ABOUT THE ARTISTS
Galit Criden (1986; in Tel-Aviv/London) is an independent choreographer; with a focus on performance and education. Since graduating Galit has initiated several projects and made number of performances, among others – “Work Big”(2016) ,”private act”(2014),”New-stuff group”(2014), “phase II”(2014),”Body-speak”(2014),”Fin”(2013),”Molly Freemark”(2012) and more.
