Join our Work Exchange programme
Update: Wednesday 20th January 2021: This programme has now closed. In response to restrictions related to COVID-19 we have shifted to a low-contact operational model, with fewer staff on site. This is with intent to minimise footfall and contact, to protect visitors to the space, and to reduce our running costs in order to ensure our financial stability.
For many years, the Work Exchange programme has been key to CDS’ survival. We are immensely grateful to the artists who poured their time and love into this work, and we understand it has enabled many to use our studios in a low-cost manner. Once we are through this difficult period, we hope to be able to use the studio hours that previously went to VAs in a new manner to support independent artists.

The Chisenhale Dance Space Work Exchange programme allows artists and producers to work in exchange for space in our studios and build their arts administration experience, supporting both our artist-led charity and their own artistic practice.
Those enrolled on the Work Exchange programme work shifts as Venue Assistants. They are responsible for responding to enquiries, booking studio hires, administration tasks and data entry, as well as helping with front of house at performance events. Shifts are typically on Friday evenings and weekends. These are allocated monthly on a first come first served basis.
Venue Assistants benefit from exchanging the hours they accrue from shifts, for hours in our rehearsal studios to use for their own artistic practice.
If you are interested in the role, please send a CV and a short expression of interest explaining why you’d like to be part of the programme to: admin@chisenhaledancespace.co.uk
Applicants will be considered on a rolling basis. You will be required to attend an informal interview and a training session. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to email or call: 020 8981 6617
