Maria’s joyful and physically challenging classes draw from modern and release techniques and include styles from Horton to African dance. The class begins by awakening the dancer’s body-awareness through alignment, presence and mindfulness. From here dancers are given the opportunity to develop their musicality, dynamics and physical strength as simple exercises develop into more challenging sequences. The focus is on learning to connect and move with the group while creating space for individual expression.
