Since 1980, Chisenhale Dance Space has been a home for artists, organisers and communities imagining new ways of making, sharing and leading culture. Founded by the X6 Collective, CDS continues to champion artist-led practice, experimentation and collective action.
Today, through the CDS Artist Community, we support hundreds of artists, producers, teachers and cultural workers. Together, they are building a more equitable future for dance and performance, with a particular commitment to supporting Black, Brown and Global Majority heritage artists, and disabled and neurodivergent artists.
Join Us as an Advocate
The CDS Advocates programme is for people who believe artists need affordable space, meaningful support and the power to shape the future of culture.
You might be a former CDS artist, a neighbour, collaborator, audience member or someone who simply shares our values. What connects our Advocates is a belief that culture is something we build together.
We’re inviting Advocates to match the cost of an Artist Community membership through a monthly donation of:
- £3 per month (£36 per year)
- £4 per month (£48 per year)
- £5 per month (£60 per year)
As a small charity without regular public funding, every contribution helps sustain artist-led space, collective learning, leadership development and opportunities for artists to shape the future of CDS.
Being Part of the Community
As an Advocate, you’ll join a growing community of supporters helping sustain artist-led work at CDS. Advocates receive:
- Quarterly updates from artists and the CDS team
- 15% discount on space bookings
- Invitations to the annual Advocates Supper
- Early access to selected events and opportunities
- Opportunities to connect with artists, supporters and cultural workers across the CDS community
